Freelender.org is a project to share people's resources and resourcefulness. Lending can build the essentials of community -fellowship, security and meaningful participation in a totality greater than one's self.
Building community via the web?
Examples of generosity & trust-building on-line:
- 'My Neighbors' Facebook application - it asks what tools etc you want to share and which community projects you want to initiate and join, though the pages are mostly used for promoting parties etc.
- Freecycle helps people be generous with what they are getting rid of by finding someone to pick it up.
- Freecycle parties proactively encourage sharing
- The Freeconomy justfortheloveofit.org -Skillshare, Toolshare, Spaceshare, Landshare and Philosofree
We are working with the Freeconomy (justfortheloveofit.org) to learn from their experience and add new advantages to freelender.org
freelend.org will enable you to build trust-ratings that will help others to have the confidence of trusting you with whatever they are willing to lend. (Money is a form of trust; we aspire to build trust that will serve us even when money fails us).
